Strong winds pull down tons of oranges in Valencia

The days of strong winds in Valencia we are reducing the harvest of oranges, with winds exceeding 80 km time come to throw down daily tons of oranges.

The ripe fruit is waiting for weeks to be collected with the strong wind ends on the floor, the product is entirely suitable for human consumption but is rejected by their appearance. The oranges that end in the ground are often the most ripe and sweet and the best flavour.

But that is done with these oranges? Almost 100% of the oranges end up on the floor, some oranges not validity for consumption (by size, appearance ..A) they lead the majors to make juice, the juice that then end up buying at the supermarket at about 1 € each product

Others take them for agricultural use (livestock use as natural fertilizer ...)
